Problem Note 62848: SAS® global macro variables are unavailable when the SAS® Workspace Server executes a Termination program

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

If a SAS® Stored Process executes using a SAS Workspace Server that is configured to submit a Termination program after each stored process, SAS global macro variables do not resolve correctly after the Termination program runs. The unresolved macro variables include reserved macro variables as well as any global macro variables that are defined in the source code for the stored process.

One or more warning messages, similar to the following, might appear in the stored process log:

WARNING: Apparent symbolic reference global-macro-variable-name not resolved.

To circumvent the problem, use an %INCLUDE statement to submit the Termination program at the end of the source code for the SAS stored process. An example is shown here:

%include '/physical-path/termination_program.sas';

The problem occurs only when the stored process executes using a workspace server with a server Termination program that is defined in the server properties. Therefore, another circumvention is to execute the stored process by using the SAS® Stored Process Server that is configured with a Request Termination program.
